The pet should have Health Certificates issued by a government or practiced veterinarian in the country of origin stating that the pet has already been examined and found to be healthy and that in the area where the pet resides did not exist any rabies case during the last 4 months. The pet should have a Rabies Vaccination Certificate stating that the pet has been given a Rabies vaccine at sometime within the last 12 months before time of departure (except pets from any rabies-free area where rabies vaccination are not conducted).


  1. It is illegal to bring pets (dogs, monkeys, cats, and other such animals) into the following rabies-free areas and provinces: Madura, Bali, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Maluku, Irian Jaya, Kalimantan Barat, all islands included in the Sumatran area.
  2. Pets (dogs, monkeys, cats, and other such animal) can be brought into Indonesia through the following port of entries:

Seaports: Tanjungpriok, Cirebon, Semarang, Tanjungperak, Belawan Deli, Teluk Bayur, Ujung Pandang and Manado.
Airports: Jakarta, Medan, Pakanbaru, Manado, Surabaya.
